Candy you ate as a kid®

I don’t know about you, but when I spend my time, money and effort on a party, I like to do something a bit different. So one year I found a website online and I came up with some old time goodies that I added to my halloween snacks that took my guests back to a time when they remembered or as one of them said, “the good old days”

The website is called Old Time Candy and they had some party favor bags there that I bought that were clear with jack o lanterns on them. Then I picked out a few different kinds of candy and filled the bags with candy from different decades and placed them in bowls and on tables so my guests could help themselves. Some of the older folks, well, the ones nearing their fifties, could remember pixie stix, razzles, rock candy, fruit stripe gum and swedish fish. I tried to pick a variety so they could have a blast remembering those great days. Even though it was a halloween party, it was still fun going back in time and these are just as great as halloween snacks as the traditional ones.

For the ones who grew up in the eighties, I bought nerds, sour patch kids, airheads, cowtales and push pops. My hubby and I grew up in the 70′s so I had to have some of those goodies like bottlecaps, a candy ring (which my grandkids loved those) and laffy taffy. I couldn’t believe they still made so many of these different things. Ok, so I had to have some of the candy cigarettes, remember the bubble gum cigs? I couldn’t help myself!

Here you are, one of my favorite all time candy stores:

Hope you enjoyed this post and stop and take a look at the candy store. If things get a bit boring at your party this is a big deal and a lot of people just love going back in time so give them some of the old time halloween snacks!
