Quick Halloween Snacks
Are you looking for some quick halloween snacks to set out for your guests to enjoy? If you work full time or just don’t have enough time to go all out and you really can’t afford to have the party catered, then you may want to consider some of these quick and easy recipes that I’ve made over the years.
Worms in apples are great Halloween snacks and you can scare those little and big monsters with these icky treats.
Here are the simple ingredients:
1 dozen apples
1 dozen gummy worms
a jar of any kind of red jam (Strawberry, Cherry)
4 tablespoons butter
All you do is clean and cut out the core from the bottom end of the apple but leave a half inch and then put one teaspoon of butter and jam in each hole. Bake uncovered at about 350 degrees then let cool on the counter. Put the gummy worm in the hole so half of it hangs out. Yuk! Guests have no clue what the gooey stuff is but they always eat it!
Throw a cake mix together and put in the oven. Then take some crumbled oreos for the topping, stick some small fake tombstones which you can make out of anything, but Milano cookies by Pepperidge Farm really work great. You have just created a cake with the image of a graveyard! A great quick halloween snack!
If you want something more than just snacks, throw together some mini pizzas. Take some ground beef and fry up in a pan until brown. Then pick up some of those refrigerated biscuits and roll them out on a cookie sheet, add the hamburger, sauce and cheese and bake in the oven until done. Quick halloween snack and yet they are getting something better than junk food.
Another affordable food is take a pack of hot dogs, biscuits and roll a biscuit around each hot dog, bake on a cookie sheet and I promise it will be a big hit with the little kids and the big kids. One year I had baked 5 dozen and they were gone before any of the junk food. These delicious quick halloween snacks are called pigs in a blanket here on the East Coast.
